There are Language Interface Packs including Proofing Tools for Office XP
2002, Office 2003, and Office 2007.

Thanks for the info but I still cannot find out where I can download a spell
checker.
I have downloaded the interface in the past but that did not include any
proofing tools.

Did you try installing the Office XP Welsh Proofing Tools Add-In? There is
a link at the bottom of the page. It should work with your Office 2003
system but I do not know whether it will install or not.

I have installed the Welsh Language Interface Pack and the spell check works.
So problem solved. It's a problem that's been bugging me for some time so
many thanks.
