Microsoft Office 2003 - Word...

One of the users had Office 2000...I was instructed to install/upgrade this
workstation with Office 2003...now the user can not "double-click" to open
any word documents...he must open word then use the File menu and from there
select open or use the open shortcut in order to open any/all word
documents...I have uninstalled any/all of Office 2000, I have re-installed
2003, I have updated to latest office service pack (3)...can someone please
advise?

Thank you very much for your reply...however that didn't solve the
issue...after research I found this to solve my problem...hope it helps
anyone encountering same issue. Again thank you for your time and reply have
a nice day...

Open regedit…HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins…Click
on add-ins listed…Change the value of the LoadBehavior key from 3 to 0 for
each add-in. All you have to do is right click the value and click modify
then change its value and close out.
