Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Student and Teacher Edition Rebate

I'm trying to fill out my $25 Office rebate but I don't know what to
include as the "original product box top (Certificate of Authenticity)
with the product name and barcode clearly identified from the
product." It came in a clear plastic case with a piece of paper
wrapped around the CD case. The paper has product information, but I
don't see a barcode. There are two clusters of colored squares ("color
bars") with numbers or color names above them. Is this some new form
of bar code?

Do I stand a chance of getting my rebate without this "box top"?

Thanks,

Derrick

I don't remember this coming up before. You might have to ask Microsoft. I
would email them or try asking the store where you purchased the product.

Sorry!

Hi Derek:

That sounds suspiciously like a bootleg copy to me.

If you have a genuine copy, there should indeed be a bar code on the outer
packaging. Look for a silver holographic sticker with a bright orange
product key sticker beside it.

Both should be on the back of the CD case.

And "no", without the certificate of authenticity, you won't get any rebate
:)

Hope this helps
