microsoft office 2004 student and teacher edition

My daughter had this version on her Macbook this summer when her hard drive started acting up. A friend backed up her old drive and transferred this data to the new drive. MS OFFICE did not transfer and she only just discovered this as she began her study abroad program in Germany. The original program disc is in Houston- still no power. I have the product/activation key for the ms office program that was previously installed on her mac.

Is there any way to download this edition online and use the original product key to activate it? I am trying to avoid the delay resulting from shipping the disc to germany to effect the install. Thanks in advance, Dave

Hi Dave -

There's no legitimate source of download & I wouldn't trust any of the
illegitimate ones However, all is not lost.

It's perfectly acceptable for her to install Office from someone else's
source disk as long as she uses the Product Key for her licensed copy, so
all you have to forward to her is the Product Key. The hard part is going to
be trying to get access to an English version of Office 2004 in Germany.

Depending on her exact location you might have her contact MS customer
service. They may be able to offer some assistance.

There is no way to download legally. You need the CD Key not the Product ID.

It would probably be quicker and almost as cheap to buy Office 2008 Home &
Student version for $124.99 from Amazon. Free Shipping, but not sure if they
can legally ship out of US.
