Microsoft Office 2007 Free Trial - Uninstall Issues

I have repeatedly tried to uninstall the free trial version of Office 2007
from my PC. It still is listed in my programs, along with numerous updates.
Microsoft updates keeps attempting to install additional updates for this
trial version, and naturally all attempts updating it keep failing. I can't
access it and I can't remove it. I also have Office 2000 installed on my
computer, but several options of that aren't working now--in particular--my
power-point. I really am not computer literate, so any help offered, please
make in very simple terminology. Is it possible that it's partially
uninstalled? Help!!! Thanks for any help you all can offer me!

How to uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature:
