Microsoft Office 2007 small business install problem

I have had my office package for over a year. It was working fine for about
9 months and then I started getting a situation that office would have to
reinstall each time I open a microsoft office product. Just as this started
to happen I had received a flashing message about some file being courupted
in the bottom of the screen and it disappeared before I could understand it -
it has not reappeared

I tried uninstalling office and reinstalling. When I did this it worked
fine until I downloaded the service packs that have come out since my install
disk came to me with the computer.

Has anyone else experieced this and do you have any ideas or fixes. (I am a
fairly general level user as far as technical knowledge and know how. I can
follow directions fairly well but am not an indepth technical person.
