Microsoft Office 97 Upgrade Installation

Received error message "Upgrade Check..All Searches Failed"

We have the Works and Microsoft Office Upgrade software packages. While
trying to install Office, received the above error message. Now I cannot
exit the setup process without voiding my software. I've contacted the
technical support...who said there is no phone support for Office
97...directed me to this process.

Please advise on how to start over on the installation process without
voiding my software.

My computer is still running!

This is peer newsgroup not Microsoft Support. You need to allow time for a
response before reposting.

If you exit the installation process, your void the current installation not
your software. You can always start again. However, in your case, I suspect
you will get the same error message.

While Works is a qualifying product for Office 97 upgrade, the upgrade
installer requires that the version of Works that you have pre-date the
release of Office 97. I suspect that your version of Works post-dates the
release of Office 97 and is not a qualifying product.

Don
