Microsoft Office Activation Wizard Hell!

I recently upgraded from the 32-bit edition of Windows Vista Ultimate to the
64-bit edition of this same OS. Upon reinstalling my copy of Microsoft
Office 2007 Basic, I immediately launched Microsoft Word and was greeted with
a number of different windows having to do with registration and first-time
usage.

I thought that all of these pop-up windows would go away, but one window
continues to return every time I launch a Microsoft Office 2007 application.
This window is the "Microsoft Office Activation Wizard" window.

This window notifies me that "as part of 2007 Microsoft Office system, trial
copies of some programs are included."

It then goes on to notify me that these trial programs will expire after a
certain period of time. It also informs me that if I choose not to activate
at this time, I can still run the software 3 more times before many of the
features become unavailable.

Well, I have run the software many more times than the 3 times that it
suggests, and this pop-up window simply will not go away!

Bottom line: I don't want to install the trial software (PowerPoint and
Access), and I want this pop-up window to permanently go away. What a
nuisance!

Each time I have encountered this window I have simply chosen to press the
"Cancel" button and move on. I kept thinking that this window would
ultimately disappear. No dice.

Help!

This may be a dumb question, but you don't mention if you activated the
software.

You need to do that when you re-install. I'd recommend being logged in as
the administrator when you do it.
