Microsoft office - buy now or later?

George

I've made the decision to buy MS office, but I'm wondering about the timing.
We're half-way through 2004. Should I wait for MS 2005? Are there any major
updates planned? Or should I just jump right in?

I think what George means is that he would hate to
purchase MS Office 2003 and 1 month later MS releases MS
Office 2005!

George,
Timing on purchasing Office products is limited to
support of previous versions, updates, Service packs,
upgrade eligibility, etc...

I have not heard of any firm early schedules for the next version of
Office. There is nothing that I know of in the Beta pipeline. The only
rumor that I've heard is maybe sometime late 2005 or maybe when
Longhorn is released. Nothing anytime soon. Go ahead any upgrade.

Right. I learned a lot from Quicken 2001, which I purchased just before 2002
came out. 18 months later Quicken suddenly dropped support for the program
and blocked the free bank downloading ability that had been the appeal of
the program in the first place.

Frankly, I've always been pretty happy with Microsoft. I've given the rival
software firms (Symantec, Intuit, Corel) plenty of chances, but the greed of
these companies and the complete disdain for their customers sends me back
to Mama every time.
