I have a Windows 2008 Server running Microsoft Office Basic 2003. We
use Microsoft Office Document Imaging to view multipage faxes saved
in .tif format.
This setup worked for several weeks, and then MODI began locking up
when opened. The .tif file opened would display, but the entirety of
the Windows desktop becomes unresponsive, except for alt-F4 will close
the frozen application.
I have searched and found no reference to such behavior, although I
have found the references to Office SP3 breaking other issues with
MODI's mspview.exe file.
Fixes tried which have not worked:
Reinstalling MODI from the Office Basic 2003 cd.
Copying the pre sp3 files from the Office Basic 2003 cd.
Using Microsoft Picture Viewer to view (does not handle multipage
faxes)
Has anyone else run into this problem, whether or not they've found a
solution to it?
