Microsoft Office Document Imaging won't save existing file after e

After upgrading from office XP to office 2003 users start complaining that
they can't save files after editing them. It looks like Office Document
Imaging saves the file but when they open the files again it looks the same
as the one they opened before editing. To put it another way, Document
Imaging didn't save the changes that were made. Users have modify rights on
the folders and files so that's not it.

When users save the file with another name all goes well. It looks like the
files are opened as read only but that can't be the case because it appears
to be saving the file. They would have gotten an error if this was the case.

Is there anyone that has seen this problem before and solved it?

Thanx in advance !!

It must be a networking problem. If users copy the files locally (C or D
drive) it does work.

Hi Wilbrand,

Does the program have delete rights and access to the temporary folder?
In some Office programs it works on a temporary file copy, then when you save it deletes the original and renames the temp file to
the saved name.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for replying. I'm not sure if the Document Imaging software has the
right
access to the temp dir. How can I check this !??

Which temp dir are you referring to? The C:\temp folder or the C:\WINNT\Temp
folder?
