microsoft office document scanning

When ever I try to open document scanning it tries to load and thens gives me
an 1311 error. This office 2003 (Teacher & Student edition) is new for me. I
even tried re-loading the program but stiill will not work. Any body else
have this problem. Document imaging gives me the same problem.
