Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 won't install

When I try to install Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 from a CD, my computer
doesn't get past the window that shows Install Progress. I let it sit for
more than an hour and nothing changed. There is no indication of activity
after the green bar completes the file preparation process. I have
deactivated my virus protection, but that made no difference. What else can
I do?

I am having the same problem; the MS knowledge base mentions disabling
antivirus programs but still nothing happens in the install bar.
