I've spent hours searching for a solution to this. Sorry if I just missed it.
I had a bad system crash a while back and had to do a recovery for
Windows Vista. After which I tried to re-install Microsoft Office Home and
Student 2007, from the CD. The first time I ran it, I got a cryptic message
about a problem with One-Note (that I accidentally closed before I wrote
it down). When I tried to install Office subsequently, I get the error
"Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 encountered an error during setup."
I have followed the microsoft instructions for this message to remove
a rgstrtn.lck file, but no such file appears to exist.
Any other solutions to this out there?
[There might be some remnant files in Windows.old from pre-Vista recovery.
Anything I need to delete from there?]
Thanks.
