Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007-Problem with Dictionary

I installed Office Home & Student 2007. When I try to select the dictionary
in help and setting for MSN the only options I have are French (Canada) and
French (France).
When I uninstall Office and reinstall my old Word 2000 I am able to select
a US English dictionary for spell checking. What am I doing wrong? Is this
soft ware bad?

A known issue. The English spellchecker that comes with Office 2007 is
a different file format than what comes with Office 2003 and earlier.
Outlook Express and Hotmail (neither of which are part of Microsoft
Office, by the way), which do not come with their own spellcheckers but
instead rely on those in Microsoft Office, do not recognize the new file
format. See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=932974 "You no longer
have spell checking capabilities in some languages in Outlook Express
6.0 after you install the 2007 Microsoft Office system". In brief, you
can reinstall the proofing tools from an earlier version of Office if
you have one, or you can install a third-party spellchecking utility
(there are many, some free, some not, just ask Google).
