Microsoft Office Live - free domain name? Whats the catch?

Hello,
I am a small business. How does Microsoft Office Live work? They
host my website, pay for the registration of my domain name.
What is the catch and how does it work?
They take Credit card details, even for the Office Live basics package
which is supposibly free.
The FAQ didnt really help me, can anyone explain??
What is in it for Microsoft, and how do they make $$ out of this?

the first 12 months,
the domain is free.

afterwards, a bill will

ok, the way i read it was that Microsfot pay for it and renew it
gratius.
