Microsoft Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003

Paul Roza

I purchased a copy of Office 2003 Pro from an online company called Great
Software Deals.com. The copy I received was not in the typical box which
Microsoft supplies it in. Instead it was in a shrink wrapped package and it
is labelled as Microsoft Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003. Right
on the front of the CD it says Not for Retail or OEM distribution. Not for
resale.
My question is: is this a valid copy of the product? It comes with a product
key but if I install it will I be able to receive updates and will I receive
support from Microsoft? Am I in possesion of an illegal pirated copy?
Thanks for any help!

If it says on the front of the cd: "not for OEM distribution" wouldn't it
NOT be a OEM version?

| Hello,
| It seems that you bought a OEM version of the office. OEM version of a
| software is cheaper and does not come inside the original big box.

What amuses me is that the OP is asking this question *after* spending his
money. Seems to me that he really should have been asking this earlier.

Hi Paul,

The MS Office 2003 Professional Enterprise Edition is a corporate only product. It is not intended for sale for use in retail end
user scenarios. It's not as, the CD shows a Microsoft approved individual sale. The MS Office Enterprise editions do not come with
MS end user direct support.

Whether it's a real MS produced CD at all, would be a separate issue.
Try the 'how to tell' link on the lower right hand corner of the
http://microsoft.com/piracy page for more information.

I recently exchanged emails with someone who had the exact same problem. She
reported it and never heard anything back one way or another.
