Is there anyway to read a document that was created in
microsoft works using microsoft word.

Betty,
Works saves files with the .wps extension. Save the file as rich text format and it should open in Word. Did this for my brother who uses Works and wanted to print via our business network. We use Office, and Word.
Changed the file format to rich text file, Save as, burned the file to cd/rw, inserted into our machine, opened in Word, then printed. He still has the original file format saved in .wps in his my documents, plus the new file that can be read by Word.
Hope this is not too convoluted an explanation, and hope this helps.

Yes. Simple. Just open it. Try it.

In Word, you should be able to open the file doing nothing special.
Just remember that by default Word will look for a *.doc exension.
Works files use *.wps extension. So, in Word, look for "all files" in
the pull down list box (bottom), or type in the full file name with the
*.wps extension.
