Microsoft Office slowdown

I have some sort of problem--my computer is working fine, but after
running Norton, Word and Entourage are sloooooow--and Entourage won't
get mail.

I've trashed the preferences, removed office, reinstalled office,
started from a brand new Microsoft User Data folder--and the problem
keeps coming back. When I logout and log back in as a different user,
the problems disappear, so I know there's something in my home
directory that's causing the problem, but I don't know which file to
delete.

Can someone suggest what I should do?
