microsoft office software has crashed

After using the 'system recovery' cd that came with my computer (Windows ME),
I somehow lost all of the Office software that was previously installed in my
computer at time of purchase.
I can find the files o.k. but I keep getting a message that I need to
re-install office from it's original source.
Am I going to have to purchase new software or can it be retrieved or
reinstalled from my computer?

You can reinstall Office from your Office CD. If Office came
preinstalled on your computer by the computer manufacturer and they did
not provide you with an Office CD, you should contact your computer
manufacturer to obtain a CD or to obtain instructions on how to
reinstall Office without a CD.
