Microsoft office suite 2007

Somehow the 2007 version of microsoft office has been downloaded to my
computer and i do not have the product key.

1. Is there a way I can obtain this key without spending money?
2. If not, how can I go back to the 2003 edition of microsoft word and excel?

Somehow Office 2007 downloaded and installed on your computer???????????

This does not happen by itself. Someone (maybe Gremlins ) had to download it and install it. To get back to Office 2003 you will need to uninstall the Trial version of Office 2007 that somehow (gremlins) got on your computer and then re-install your Office 2003. Save your Outlook pst files and all files (data) that you need to put back into Office 2003 before you do anything of the above.

I hear ya about gremlins.......it may have been my daughter. In either
case, my problem is that I am having trouble locating the word and excel CDs
for 2003.

Do you know of another way to download 2003 word and excel? I have the
product key which is listed on the side of the computer. Or am I dead in the
water without these CDs?

The number on the side of the computer case is not that of Office but rather that of the OS
If Office 2003 came with the computer then I am afraid that you are up the creek generally speaking.
But if you did buy Office 2003 retail in a store then go and find the serial number using the following

Download and install Belarc Advisor and when done open it and find the serial number for your Office 2003

When you have the serial number then read the following

The 2003 version came with the computer when it was purchased. I will try 1
thing:

I saw that the word program was modified on 8/28 of this year. I will go
back and restore all the programs prior to this date. Hopefully the word and
excel programs will go back to the 2003 versions.

If you can think of something better, your input would be appreciated.

System Restore will not work on Office. It is strickly for the OS
