Microsoft Office Update web page detects wrong version

D

dthinkr

I have only Office Pro 2003 on my Windows PC. When I use /Help/Check for
Updates it takes me to the correct site on the web. When I click "check for
updates" on the web page, it proceeds to offer up Office 2000 updates that I
should download and install.

For some reason, it appears that it isn't detecting the correct version of
Office Pro.

Any suggestions? TIA

Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control
panel to see if there are any standalone '2000' series
MS Office family apps listed as installed.

The only Office-related apps installed are 1) Office 2003 Pro, including
OneNote, and 2) Frontpage 2000.

MS Office Frontpage 2000 is part of the MS Office 2000
product family. While its installed Office 2000 updates
will be suggested. All of the standalone 2000 series apps
share the same core files from MS Office.

2) OneNote 2003
3) Frontpage 2000 >>

Hi Jan,

If you want to update the individual Office 2000
family app core files then yes the method is
to install the Office 2000 Service Releases and
Service Pack updates as well.

==========
Do you need to install the updates then? >>
