Microsoft Office v.X Upgrade

I seem to remember a promotion when purchasing Microsoft Office v.X
that promised a free upgrade to Office 2004 when released. Does anyone
have details or a link to further information regarding this promotion?

I believe the technology upgrade guarantee was only good for purchases of
Office X made by June 30 2004. There apparently is no longer any info on the
MS website about the technology guarantee.

I am trying to find the same information. I too bought v.X in April on
the understanding that when 2004 came out I could upgrade. Have not
got around to doing anything about it, but now I want to i can find
nothing. The shop I bought it from denies all knowledge. If you find
anything out I would appreciate it if you let me know, and I will do
likewise.

I googled for Technology Guarantee and some third-party sites seem to still
have the pdf available. But it says you needed to postmark by August 14th,
at least for North American versions. International localized versions may
be on a different timeline, I have no idea.
