Microsoft Office won't start and wants me to buy it again.

Version: v.X Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC I bought Office:mac and it has 3 installation #'s. I own two Macs and installed it on each one. Twice it wouldn't open on each Mac. Both Macs were running slow so I ran a couple of virus programs recommended by Mac users.

My iMac is running fine. My husbands Mac Cube won't let him open Office. I get the message: Microsoft Office X cannot start because Microsoft Offis is already in use.

An Office program is being used by D...... W.... Your installation exceeds the number of installations permitted by the license agreement. Click More Information to learn about Microsoft Office licensing.

I'm not putting this on a new computer. I'm trying to get the existing version to open again. The CD should have a 'fix' mode to jump start versions already installed and registered on that specific machine. I shouldn't have to buy a new version because I got a bug.

Any suggestions. I've installed this damn program twice on my computer for the same reason as above and once on my husband's computer. This is a total and complete rip off to have to buy it again when I'm not putting it on a new computer.

Add to that, that Microsoft just lost the big lawsuit for infringement and why would I want to buy this software again?

You¹ve used the same key on both installs. You will need to remove the CD
Key and use another one.
