Microsoft Office XP and Microsoft Works 6.0 Compatability

I am buying a e-Machine which comes loaded with Microsoft Works 6.0. My
question is, is Microsoft Works 6.0 compatible with Microsoft Office XP
which I am running on another machine? The machines are networked and I
would like to be able to access all the files created on either computer.

Files saved in Works programs need to be saved in other formats other than
their default format if you intend to open the files in Office programs.

I have both running. When installing office check the import filter in word
for works 6. it will open directly from word and can be saved in either
format. Works best this way.
