Microsoft Office XP performance problem

Have office xp running on 2 machines. Sometimes, when you
go to save document, it takes forever and the document
stops responding. we have disabled norton antivirus real
time virus scanning for incoming and outgoing files, but
no change.

Try a selective start up from msconfig (please be careful you could harm your system if you uncheck the wrong thing). It is usually a 3rd party program. For outlook click on start and choose run type in outlook /safe to disable loading the addins
