Microsoft Office

There are 3 individuals utilizing the same computer. For
privacy, it would be nice if a folder could be created for
each user that would require the use of a passcode to open.

Is it possible to restrict access to a folder in Microsoft
Office on a shared computer?

Using Windows XP, Windows 2000, or NT? Why not create an account on the
computer for each user. Each user has access to Office, but they store
their files in their own "My Documents" folders which is, by default,
only accessible by the user. See for yourself by looking at the applied
permissions. Read about this in System Administration topics in Help.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Only with a third party application - but if you are using Windows XP or W2K
then you can set up a User account for each person and use NTFS permissions
to deny access by the other users to each individual's My Documents folder.

Hi Rob. Yes, I know about the separate users & their
separate "my documents" folders. I've done this actually -
HOWEVER - when a user who is NOT the administrator logs
on, they have no access to the modem connection for some
reason - despite my having given each user sharing rights
through security settings, etc. If I leave the modem
connection active (acting as administrator), then they
have access but CANNOT disable the connection. If I - as
administrator disable the connection, then the other users
have no modem access at all. Do you know of any way
around THIS problem??? Any assistance will be greatly
appreciated!!! Thanks for you time!
