Microsoft Officee Outlook Error Message

N

Nevada Jack

When I open Outlook 2003, I get the subject error message box:

C:\Documents and Settings\my name\Application
Data\Microsoft\AddIns\C:\PROGRA~\MICROS~4\OFFICE 11\ADDIns\outbak.dll'" is
not a valid office Add-in.

I have to click on the OK for the program to continue.

I have done a complete system search for all possible combinations of the
above error message and get 0 repsonses for any files. I have repaired and
reinstalled Outlook and the error message continues to appear.

Can anyone explain what is causing this and how I may get rid of it?

WinXP Pro, SP1 with all current fixes.

Thanks

Do you have or did you once have the Outlook Personal Folders Backup
installed? If yes and you got rid of it, go to
Tools->Options->Other->Advanced->Add-in Manager and uncheck it.

Thanks Milly...The Add-in Manager does not show Outlook Personal Folders
Backup. The only listings are QuickviewPlus Outlook Autozip Extension,
Exchange Extension property pages and Windows CE Support. Each one of those
is checked.

When I click on COM Add-ins...the Error message comes up and then I click OK
and the COM Add-in screen comes up with Norton AntiSpam Outlook Plugin with
a check mark.

I don't know if I ever had the Outlook Personal Folders Backup installed or
not.

Any other thoughts or possible solutions?

Jack

Hi Milly...I downloaded the Outlook Personal Folders Backup and
installed it and the Error message is gone! I must have had it loaded
and removed it during one of my reinstalls. Thanks for the help.
