Microsoft Oulook and Smartphones

Hello,
I have Smartphone2 and have a query regarding the MS Outlook synch function.
My Mailbox on the PC is 40meg. I would like to be able fully to synch this with my smartphone, however there is not enough memory.
But I have a 128mb SD card in the phone, however I cannot use this to store mail.
It seems that the databses are located on the phone and cannot be moved to reside on the SD card, is this true.
If this is the case is there any chance an enhancement will come out to allow the use of external storage instead of internal for Outlook databases?

Thanks

All of your questions relate to the usability of the Smartphone for
storage - why not post these questions to the support site for your
Smartphone? Any enhancements or synching would have to come from the
SmartPhone side, not Outlook.

I have used Outlook 97, 2000, 2002, and 2003, and none of those versions of
Outlook had a Smartphone.

If you type the word "sync" into Outlook Help, you will learn that you have
to be running an Exchange Server e-mail account. Are you running Exchange
Server on your PC?

I suggest you read your Smartphone2 manual and, if you don't find an answer
there, contact Smartphone2 technical support.

Let me rephrase that....

I am using Activsync to sych my outlook with my Smartphone2

The sync works fine.

I talked to the phone provider (Carrier Technologies)

They said that the Outlook Database has to reside on the physical mem on the phone and could not be transferred to external storage (SD card)
Apparently thi is a restriction in the way Outlook and Windows 2003 mobile edition work together.

Is this the case? if so can it be altered?]

Thanks again

to the best of my knowledge, yes it is correct. You may want to double check
with the smartphone experts in the microsoft.public.smartphone news group,
