Microsoft Outlook Error Message

J

Jay Monroe

I want to start using MS Outlook for my e-mails. I am
currently using Outlook Express. When I try to open MS
Outlook, I get the following error messages.

"The OUTLLIB.DLL file is linked to missing export
MAP132.DLL:239"
and
"C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe
A device attached to the system is not functioning"

I can't find my Office 97 disc. Is there a way to fix
this problem without it?

Thank you,

Jay

I tried the steps mentioned at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;166757. There is only one copy of Mapi32.dll in
Windows\System. The other solution mentions copying a new
Mapi32.dll from my Outlook Setup medium. Since I can't
find my Office97 software I guess I can't fix it. Any
other suggestions? Thanks for the quick response.

Know anyone running the same version of Windows you are and has Outlook 97
installed? (e.g. lets say you are running Windows 98. You could copy the
MAPI32.DLL file from a Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME box and replace
your copy.)
