"Microsoft Outlook is synchronizing your folders"

What does this message mean and why does it take so long for Outlook to
perform the task -- up to a minute? My computer is virtually frozen during
this process which occurs many times a day.

Aloha bob,

What version of Outlook are you using? Generally it means exactly what you
think it means -- Outlook is synchronizing an offline copy of your folders
with the server copy. The more items/folders you have, the more often they
change and the slower your connection to the server the longer it will take.
It should generally be a background process, however. If it's actually
freezing your computer then you may have bigger issues.
