MIcrosoft Photo Editor and XP Professional-ReTry Post

Has anyone had problems with Microsoft Photo Editor after
it was installed on XP Professional? I had the Office
suite installed on my XP Home Laptop. I recently
upgraded/clean install of XP Professional. Now, when I
open Microsoft Photo Editor and try to open graphics
files, the only file extension available to me is Kodac CD
*.pcd or just *.pcd files. All the other graphic
extensions, *.jpg, *.bmp, *.pcx, etc are no longer a
recognized file extension. Any help or suggestions? I
have uninstalled and reinstalled Office to no avail. I
tried forcing a different program to viewing the files and
then changed it back to Photo Editor to no avail. It
seems as if no matter what I try, Photo Editor will not
recognize any other format. Is this an issue between XP
Professional and Office 2000? Am I going to have to
upgrade to XP Office in order to fix this problem or is
there a patch somewhere that can help?
..
