Microsoft Picture Manager Professional Edition 2003: it takes ages to load
all photos. I even tried loading a 4KB image, and it took very long.

Hi MehdiB,

The MS Office Picture Manager is showing images from a regular Windows folder. Where is the folder you're looking at located?
(hard drive, network, internet, etc)?

How many photos are in the folder you're viewing?

The thing is, whether I click on a photo which actually part of a folder or
not (just separate), the manager takes a very long time to load the picture.
For example, I have a few pictures separately on my desktop, I have pictures
organised into folders in a private folder of mine. They all take a long time
to load.

Does anybody have a solution to this. I don't think MS figured it out in this
discussion if I can understand it correctly. Just lately, out of the blue,
my MS Picture Manager, say when I click on one photo (I have it set as
default viewer), now takes probably a minute to load a miniscule file. What
is going on here? I like this product. I don't want the answer to be find
another viewer because that doesn't really answer what is obviously a problem
between at least two users. (You may ask - well how fast does it load in say
Photoshop - and I'll say milliseconds in such a hefty loading program).
