microsoft program for house plans

Can the Publisher program do anything with house plans? If so, what?

Also, does MS have any user friendly programs that you could do house plans
with, either scan a plan into and be able to edit, or draw from scratch,
whatever?

The normal software for this purpose IS NOT user friendly!!!!

Visio would be the best choice of the Office programs but since you probably
don't have Visio, take a look at some of the lower priced programs that are
available. I've seen them for as little as $60 (Visio will set you back
several hundred).

SmartDraw but it's not from MS...but there is a free trial. It's like a baby
CAD + Visio like program.

....and is like the child of Satan. I wouldn't wish that steaming heap of

I guess then that you don't like it?
I use it for simple floorplans. Do you know of a diff program then?

Ya think? ;)

Offhand, no, as I haven't needed to do such things often enough to make
it worth my while to investigate the options. The only reason I used it
the time I did was because it was slightly less unintuitive than
XCircuit. Anyone forced to use that must be in the 9th circle of hell.

That one looks like fun!

I've tried lite CAD programs but they're still too complicated, also have
tried the homeowner stuff and their usually junk...I need something
in-between.
