Microsoft Project 2002 Standard

Tried to install Project 2002 Standard, but it says that I
must unload the previous versions of Project.
But I have not loaded a previous version.

Did you have an eval copy on that machine at one time? Sounds like there
was a version of MSP on that machine at some point but whoever removed it
just deleted the shortcuts or the program folders instead of actually
uninstalling it. If you can figure out which version it was, reinstall the
old version and then uninstall it. When I installed 2002 and later 2003,
they detected that there was a previous version and after I confirmed the
go-ahead they went on to uninstall and cleanup the old version as part of
the installation for the new one. Likewise if you have Standard and are
installing Pro or vice versa.

Only I have ever had access to the machine and I have not
installed any version of MSP, but MSP 2002 thinks so.
So what is it that MSP 2002 is seeing that makes it think
there is a previous version installed?
