Microsoft Project Adjusting start to finish dates

I can't get this program to adjust all the dates after the start date when I
want to change the start date. I want to use the same template for different
lots. the tasks and the days will stay the same i just want to change all
the dates without having to do it myself.

Are you setting start date from the Project Menu > Project Information? If
this is where you're entering your start date, then there are two reasons
for the dates not shifting: Either your plan is poorly structured (ie: your
schedule is not properly linked or you've hand entered dates causing your
schedule to be constrained), or you've got actual start and finish
information in the plan, such as might be the case if you've cloned another
plan that has already been tracking.
