Hi, I searched all over the internet trying to find a way to have linux
users to access the PWA through IE, as firstly IE is not a linux thingy
(oh really?), and secondly because using a wine/IE implementation just
didn't work.
the tip to get it running is to install the latest version of MDAC. we
installed:
- wine from deb packages (ubuntu)
- cabextract from deb packages
- ie4linux from <http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/index-en.html>
- MDAC 2.8 from <http://tinyurl.com/6xa89>
it took us some time to figure out the MDAC thing, but other than that,
everything went incredibly smooth.
the only thing we could not get running was the 'Assign myself to an
existing task' thing. We are about to switch everyone over to project
server, and the issue we had was to get everyone to enter their
timesheets on the browser (linux users). all the administrative tasks,
like daily timesheets have to be assigned on a windows machine.
Decided to post this here to help others.
cheers,
Fernando
