Nothing is automatic. To learn more about Outlook task tracking, read
in Outlook's Help file about it. If you need to ask questions in a
newsgroup, best to ask in one which specialises in Outlook.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

If you're using Project Server 2003, there is an Outlook Access plug-in
included. When you log into Project Web Access, there's a link on the
right-hand side of the Home page that says, "Work with Outlook to share
calendar and task information." Here's the text you see when you click on the
link:

View and report on your tasks from your Outlook calendar
This add-in for Outlook allows you to:
Import the tasks in your timesheet to your Outlook calendar and see them
alongside your existing appointments
Report on the progress of your tasks from within Outlook

Requirements:
A valid Project Web Access account
Microsoft Outlook 2000 or later
The Project Web Access add-in for Outlook (download below)

Download the add-in:
Download the file by clicking the Download Now button (below)
On the File Download dialog box, click Open
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation

Download Now

It's not perfect, but it is one way to track tasks in Outlook. (Although
when you download the tasks from the server they'll import into Outlook as
Appointments on your Calendar rather than Tasks.) You can set it up to
download tasks from the server automatically or manually. Of course, you have
to update the tasks in Outlook and update the server manually.

Of course the other option would be to write a custom interface between the
two applications.

Hope that helps.
