Though I have searched all docs and help menus I have not seen the capability
to fill cells such as found in either Eccel or Microsoft Word. How can I fill
in specific cells with either colors or shades of gray?

Can anyone out there give me a hand?

Sorry, Project does not have that option. The best you can do is apply
font formatting (e.g. color, bold, italic, etc.) to highlight data in a
field cell.
