Microsoft Publisher- printing problems

Microsoft Publisher (Office 2000 Professional) does not seem to allow for
printing odd or even pages only. (first attempt at using Publisher)

Problem #1
The only way to print a booklet; (approx. 30 pages) is to first print odd
pages then manually re-feed the paper (for printers without auto collate
feature)

All my other programs have odd/ even printing options.

Note: I have selected the appropriate page set up item- using the
"book-fold" option and 8 1/2 x 11 paper size; landscape orientation.

What am I doing wrong?

Problem #2
Publisher lists the cover page as #1. While it is the first page of the
document, the page number should not print (it does) The second page (first
page actually containing text) should be page one with the page number
printed as such.

In Publisher 2000 I made the cover a separate publication so as to bypass the
page numbering issue, page 3 would end up as page 1.

Printing - View, click off 2 page spread. Page 1, print current page, Publisher
will query, click no. Turn the page over, go to page 2, print current page,
click no and so on. If you do not want to go through all of that, print the
whole thing, alternate the printed pages and reinsert into the printer. This
method will give you 2 booklets.
