Microsoft Query in Excel 2000

Any information out there that can update the status of this error:
"Microsoft Quert could not be started because it isn't installed." We have
done all the uninstall/repair with no success. Scouring the web for a
resolution has also been unsuccessful. I DID find the suggestion to use the
MS WORKS files but due to our environment, I hesitate going this route.

Actually, yes:
Problem originates within the file MSQRY.EXE that is included with 2000
versions of Excel or Office.
Solution is to replace the file in C:\program files\Microsoft Office\Office…
with the MSQRY that is included in a later version of Excel or Office
(XP,2002,2003).
***So far, this has worked successfully on our client's system.
