Hi JanAdam,

The basic version of MS Script Editor for Office 2003
can be accessed in Word through Tools=>Macros.
If it's not installed you can add it through
Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel,
Microsoft Office 2003 choice and [Change]
Add or Remove features [x] Advanced...
and look under Office Tools=>HTML Source Editing.

I have recently run accross MS script editor, a great editor for html. I am
trying to istall it at my home computer for a couple of hours to no avail. I
am running Office 2003 on W2K pro machine. At work I have Office 2000 on W2K
and the editor, mse.exe, is located in a visual studio folder in program
files on C:

Can I get it for Office 2003? If yes, how?

Thanks, JanAdam>>

I "discovered" that little gem also. It's easy to access from within Office
apps, but hard to find on it's own. On my PC (Office XP) it's here:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office XP\Office10\MSE7.EXE

Hopefully that will help you find it.

Hi JanAdam,

Look for mse7.exe on your PC for
the MS Office included script editor
version. You may find more than one
version using Start=>Find/Search.

I have just tried this. It yields the same result as trying to update it
from Word/Tools/Macro/Microsoft Script Editor and then Install. The result
is that the following was create/installed in the Program Files folder:
Microsoft Visual Studio/COMMON/IDE/IDE98/ASP.TLB . Except asp.tlb there are
no more files. Search for mse.exe on the whole C: and D: (my program files
partitions containing Office) came empty.

Any hints what to try next? And thanks for trying to help.

I have found it - halleluiah! It has installed itself to
Office/office11/mse7.exe

By the way, why is Microsoft hiding it so well?

Thanks Bob and Jon, you both helped me a lot.
