Office 2003 and consequently Publisher 2003 are spyware and give Microsoft information.

You go to use the HELP file, and you cannot because Microsoft are spying on you to see what you are doing.
This is what happens below when you try to access the HELP.

This is bizarre and unconscionable of Microsoft to not give you the HELP files. This practice allows Microsoft to spy on you and obtain information illegally. Because I have high security on my computer systems for necessary reasons, I cannot get use the HELP in my programs.

I paid for this program and now I cannot get HELP to work because I don't want or need Microsoft spying on me.

This is another absolute abuse of power by Microsoft.

What do people do who have no access to the Internet?

1. Cookies are NOT spyware.
2. You can access the help system in Office 2003 without accessing the
internet. The internet has "additional" help content over and above the
existing help content in Office 2003 offline, same as Office 2002.

Cookies are spyware as my computer has to send a message to MS web server to
try and plant a spyware cookie on my computer. MS's server does not spew
cookies out randomly, it responds to a call from a message sent out to the
server. Who knows what the message contains.

"call" to microsoft or any other web site for this. Have you opened this

David, go into the Services option in under Tools > Options > General Tab
and go to the Online Content category and turn off the online help features.

All that "call" does as you call it is tell the server that this ip address
is accessing this website. Then it drops a cookie to the ip address thru
your browser. Cookies can only be used to tranmit your ip address, browser,
when you were here last and possibly where you came from. Almost ALL
websites on the internet use cookies in this manner. They have no personal
info in them and cannot be used to find you or tell who you are. They cannot
be used to "see" what your doing and they can't be used to connect to your
computer in any remote fashion. Learn what cookies do before you post
please.
