Since I upgraded to Snow Leopard I keep getting this error:

Microsoft sync services has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Here is the error report.

Either a bad cache (turn Sync Services off then back on in the Entourage
preferences), or a bad contact/event. You can try selectively disabling
one or or the other in the rpeferneces to figure out which it is,

I disabled all the sync services and then turned them back on. I checked combine after turning the sync services back on. I immediately got the error message again.

It sounds like there is corruption in your data.

Test in a new User.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts.

Move your Identity to Shared folder for testing. When you drag from Shared
to the new User, it copies.

~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities

Switch to the New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching.

In the new User, open Entourage and let it create a new Microsoft User Data
folder and a new blank Identity.

Quit Entourage.

Drag from Shared, your Identity and let it overwrite the new blank Main
Identity.

Open Entourage. It will open in your Entourage Identity.

Under File in the Menu bar....Select Export
Export all your data from contacts and events (do one at a time to test).
Select to delete after exporting.
Import the data back into Entourage using File > Import

Sometimes this will clear the corruption.

Now test Sync Services. Does it work? If yes, then drag the fixed Main
Identity back to Shared. (you might want to rename this to show it's the
fixed Identity)

Switch back to your regular User and drag from Shared the Fixed Identity.

You might want to reset Sync Services before you try syncing to your fixed
Identity. The old crap could just sync back up.

Reset Sync Services and start fresh...

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/troubleshoot/syncservices.html#ss2>

Open Entourage and hopefully this fixed the problems. If they start backup
then you know it's a problem in your User's account.

Let me know if this helps.

Wow that's a bunch of stuff to try. I'm on the road and think I'll wait till I get back home tomorrow to try.
Thanks

Crazy stuff this syncing. I got home to see that my IMac reported 250 or so changes to its calendar. I have a 3 computer system using MobileMe to sync. My MacBook Air (the only one using Entourage), my IMac, & my IPhone. So I reset the sync data on the IMac and told it to use the MobileMe data to overwrite my IMac. After that I've had no sync errors on my MacBook with Entourage.

Go figure!

Remember sync services is very problematic and especially when you add
in a third party product like Entourage or Contactizer Pro or....

Apple and Microsoft are aware of this. Its not a heck of a lot of fun.
