microsoft visual basic error message

I had to re-install office 2003. Whenever I start and terminate Word or
Excel error messages are generated by Microsoft Visual Basic, example,
"Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec" or "Compile error in hidden
module: DistMon". Although there seems to be no other related problems yet,
I am unable to install my printer driver, antivirus programs and so on. Can
you help, please?

These errors are caused by AddIns in error, in this case Adobe Acrobat. See

There is no reason for this to have any impact on installing the other
things you mention; it only affects Word - and, even then, doesn;t stop it
running once you get past the message.
