'Microsoft Visual Basic' error on launching Excel

-getting error messages when launch MS excel in MS office
prof97:-> microsoft
visual basic: compile error in hidden module: autoexecnew
when closing down Excel :-> microsft visual basic: compile
error in hidden module: distmon
-when launch and close MSword in MS
office prof97 :-> Micrsoft visual basic: compile error in
hidden module: autoexec.

CAN ANYONE HELP, PLEASE!!!!!!
