microsoft visual basic error

When I start word I get the following message: "Compile
error in hidden module.main"

I am unable to save any documents. I have tried
reinstalling word xp and also windows xp, but it has not
solved the problem. I am running office xp and have not
had trouble with any other applications in the group.
