microsoft visual C++ runtime error

Luisa

I keep getting the following error when I sign on to windows XP. Any help
would be very much appreciated. I get about four of the same error windows
with this same message -

microsoft visual C++ runtime error

Runtime Error!
Program: c:\PROGRAM FILES\ITUAHOO!\JETPXRIP.EXE

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the applicaiton's support team for more information

When I google ITUAHOO and JETPXRIP, I get no hits whatsoever. That suggests
to me either that a rare Windows (or Office?) add-in (or virus?) is trying
to start, but is encountering an error. What do you see in the C:\PROGRAM
FILES\ITUAHOO! folder? Is it a program you installed? Check in the Control
Panel under Add or Remove Programs... is JET...anything listed? If so, and
you don't know the source, try removing it.

I tried web searches too and, like you, was unable to find anything. There
is nothing by the name "Jet" when I check anywhere on my computer. Here's
the real mystery.... i tried find the file today and now it's gone!!!! But
I have this suspicion it's not the last I've seen of it. I opened my event
viewer and I see "Microsoft Fax" as the source many of the application errors
on my system.

I thank you very, very much for your help. I'm not very good with computers
but I try hard to track down my computer problems

I told you it would reappear and it did. Here's what I find in the folder
C:\PROGRAM \FILES\ITUAHOO!

a cache folder
ace.dll
atl.dll
an internet explorer logo with "jetpxrip"
nwpmodem
WinGenerics.dll

I have the microsoft visual C++ runtime error too. However, the
mysterious folder that appears only after I open the browser is located
at C:\PROGRAM FILES\Yahffice
The files contained in the folder are:
Cache folder
AI_04-10-2005 text file
AI_06-10-2005 text file
ace.dll
atl.dll
WinGenerics.dll
an internet explorer logo with "sddupapi"

When I try to shutdown I get several error messages for sddupapi.exe:
DLL Initializtion failed and LEGTVIEW.exe:DLL Initialization failed

I have quite a bit of pop ups so I believe this is associated with the
AproposeMedia (People on Page) Spyware/Adware

There seems to be some similarities here. What have you done, if anything,
to get rid of these errors. I have a whole slew of the AI text files as well.

I have run registry mechanic, norton anti-virus, spybot search and
destroy, adaware and stinger. I am about to try the manual removal
process recommended to see if that helps???????

I'm getting the same microsoft visual C++ runtime error whenever I close
Microsoft Word. It only happens when I close word...no other office programs.

Did anyone find out how to repair this problem?
