Microsoft Visual C++ RUntime LIbrary - Assertion Failed!

S

I have just installed updates for Word 2003 and am now getting this message
when I run the spell checker. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this?

Assertion Failed!

Program file:...gram files\Microsoft office\office11\winword.exe
File: .\scoring.cpp
Line: 133

Expression: ret

For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the
Visual C++ documentation on asserts.

(Press Retry to debug the application - JIT must be enabled.)

Abort, retry or Ignore.

Now if I click on Ignore it will proceed through the spell check process,
but if I click on Abort or retry it will shut down Win2003.

Any suggestions?

The error message is caused by Dorland's or Spellex medical
spellcheckers in combination with Service Pack 2 for Office 2003.
Dorland's and Spellex have released updates to their
spellcheckers to make them work properly with Office 2003 SP2.
To continue working in the meantime until you install the updated
spellcheckers, turn off the Dorland's or Spellex medical
spellchecker in Word by clicking on Tools | Options | Spelling &
Grammar | Speller type: Normal | OK.

Thank you so much for this information. I had no idea there would be a
conflict and am trying to get a update for the Dorland speller I have.

Again, thank you.
