Microsoft Warning appears on Outlook Startup

Hey all,

Whenever I start MS Outlook 2003 the Outlook icon on the taskbar displays a
pop-up box that has an exclamation point inside a triangle and is title
"Microsoft Office Outlook". The message that appears after the title inside
the pop-up is "The operation failed." I have a Pocket PC that I sync with
my laptop (the machine I am recieving this error on) and desktop. I also
have a T-Mobile Sidekick II that syncs Outlook with my Sidekick II through
an application that is titled Intellsync for Sidekick. I am running Windows
XP Tablet Edition SP2 on a Toshiba Protege 3505.

Outlook is completely operational after I close the pop-up. I have also
recieved another error that said:
"There was a problem reading one or more of your reminders. Some reminders
may not appear. Cannot locate reacurrence information for this appointment.
Data has become corrupted."

I haven't witnessed any performance problems but I am curious why I am just
now recieving these messages. I do not recieve these pop-ups on my desktop
but it is running Windows 2000 with Outlook 2003 and Intellsync for Sidekick
II.

Any help would be greatful.

"The operation failed" could be a couple of things but is most likely
related to an add-in you have for Outlook.

The reminder issue can be solved by starting Outlook with the
/cleanreminders switch and could have been caused by a bad synchronization.

Thanks for the quick response. I am able to get Outlook to startup but
after it does, approximately 5 seconds later Outlook prompts me with a
warning balloon (The same one that I described before "The operation
failed"). I checked the event viewer and it doesn't provide any usefull
information. I have tried disabling all of the add-ins from the Add-In
Manager and the COM Add-Ins. I haven't been successful solving the problem.
I have repaired the .pst file using the Help menu's - Detect and Repair
utility. I have also used the scanpst.exe application. Scanpst.exe did
find some errors and said that it had repaired them. I was wondering if you
could advice me on the next step that I should take.

Additionally, how would implement the /cleanreminders switch or on what
command is the switch used on.

Not to get it confused but Outlook seems to be running well. I am just
curious why I am recieving these errors. Furthermore, if there is a real
problem I would like to catch it before it gets out of control.

The switch needs to be run against outlook.exe. So for the default location
the Run command should read;
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe" /Cleanreminders

It could be related to your "Operation Failed" notification as well so lets
try this first before digging any deeper ;-)

"There was a problem reading one or more of your reminders. Some reminders
may not appear. Cannot locate reacurrence information for this appointment.

I then restart Outlook and I receive the same "The operation failed" pop-up.
